Sailboat struck by breaching whale... maybe faked. Humpback Whale Breaches Right next to Motor Boat -REAL!!!

 Faked with Photoshop?

A southern right whale breached and landed on a sailboat off the coast of Cape Town, South Africa on Sunday. The whale broke the mast and then swam away, but the boat's occupants were uninjured. The incident is being investigated to determine if the whale was harassed.

Moment a Humpback Whale Breaches Right next to Motor Boat

A woman vacationing on Mexico's Sea of Cortez shows the shocking moment a humpback whale breached onto a fishing boat. Gillian Panasewicz, who is from Arizona, captured a series of stunning pictures showing the massive mammal coming up for air right as a boat was overhead.

Thankfully, neither the whale nor those on the boat were injured.

Canada's Globe and Mail reports that Panasewicz was vacationing in the country and captured the whale breaching from a nearby vessel.

She captured several other stunning images, one of the whale nearly capsizing a small Mexican fishing boat.

Humpbacks are among the most easily recognised whales because of their long flippers.

They get their name from the hump under the dorsal fin, which is particularly noticeable when the mammal arches its back to dive.

The humpback can reach a maximum length of 15-18 meters and weigh up to 40 tons.

During the peak of the whaling industry's activities in the 1960s and 70s, the numbers of humpbacks fell dramatically, and although they are now protected, they are still considered a vulnerable species by marine environmentalists.
